Meals in Hawaii That Make Moms Feel Loved

Mother’s Day is certainly a special day to make moms feel appreciated. It can be a day of atonement for people who were difficult as children, or a day just to remind that special woman how much she continues to mean to us. If you’re planning to take her out this Sunday, these are a few spots that may still be open to more reservations.

Gyu-Kaku

The popular grillery is offering two basic dinners at $45 per person with a Carnation Course for two people or groups with multiples of two people, as well as a Tulip Course for three people or parties with multiples of three. If you wish to splurge a little more by paying $5 more per person, a Daisy Course for two or multiples of two people costs and a Rose Course for three or multiples of three turn out to be $50 per person. All meals come with starters and small plates, but the grill-your-own dishes vary between the courses.

Regardless of which course you opt for, they all come with a “Niku Flower” or slices of kalbi, or chuck rib marinated in a sweet soy tare or sauce arranged into little roses. Extra “Niku Flowers” may also be added on to each course, along with a Chocolate Fondue Set or Strawberry S’mores for a sweet ending.

HULA GARDEN at Kahalu’u Pond by MICHEL’S

While HULA GARDEN at Kahalu’u Pond by MICHEL’S is not open on Mother’s Day, this is an option for dinner with mom the night before the holiday.

The pristine setting in Kahalu’u features a secluded garden surrounded by the lush flora of Kaneohe overlooking a historical fishpond constructed by the ancient Hawaiians using a coral and lava rock enclosure. Patrons enjoy a 4-course menu of culinary delight prepared by Michel’s while enjoying hula performances and cultural activities.

Not only will you envelop mom with your thoughtful selection of a delightful dinner venue, but you will immerse her in the natural splendor of Hawaii via a performance that will take her on a journey through the history and traditions of the islands.

If you celebrate mom on Saturday, May 11, you will each enjoy a $20 savings on the meals. Plus, each mother will receive a small floral arrangement in a basket. And that could be a worthwhile Mother’s Day celebration. Simply input the promo code (OBC2024) when making a reservation online.
