Made to order, and always fresh!

Fish and Rice operates out of Palama Market, and a Japanese sushi chef with over 30 years experience oversees the restaurant. They use top quality fish and Japanese rice, so  you can bet that everything is super tasty. Additionally, all their dishes are made to order so you can be confident that you’re picking up fresh sushi or bowls. For just $18, you can pick up a Nigiri A set that has tuna, salmon, hamachi, shrimp, uni, ikura, eel, and egg! This isn’t your average supermarket sushi!

2)Mitsuwa Marketplace – Azasu

Located centrally in Waikiki, Mitsuwa Marketplace is a Japanese supermarket known for their pre made bentos and wide range of Japanese snacks and drinks.  Pop up tempura store Azasu is a must stop for tempura lovers. Whatever you do, make sure you get a dish with their signature tempura egg. Break the yolk for some crunchy, gooey, savory goodness.

3)Foodland – HiSteak

HI STEAKS Top Sirloin Hawaii supermarket foodcourts

Located in the Ewa wing at Ala Moana Center, Foodland Farms Ala Moana is a great pit stop to pick some food up after shopping.  We love picking up our smoked meat and burgers at HI Steaks, but the real winner is the Top Sirloin Steak Plate. Featuring tender, juicy pieces of sirloin steak  over rice, you can’t go wrong with this one.  Their steaks are grilled with their signature HI Steaks rubs and sauces that pushes everything over the top. Grab some drinks, grab a steak plate and you’ve got a recipe for a great time at your hotel or at the beach.

A lot of hotels have a small fridge and a kitchenette these days.  If you’re looking to save some money, make sure to stop by a Hawaii supermarket foodcourt next time you visit!
